North Reading Fall 2020 Curbside Collection and Recycling Information

A rigid plastic dumpster will be placed at the DPW facility at 166 Chestnut Street on Saturday, October 31, 2020.  Residents can drop off rigid plastic in the dumpster between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

A curbside collection of scrap metal will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Scrap metal must be curbside by 6:30 a.m.

Please note the following:                                          

  • No appliances
  • No chain link fences
  • No propane tanks

A curbside collection of yard waste, including grass clippings, leaves, and small branches will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2020 and again on Saturday, December 5, 2020.  Waste must be curbside by 6:30 a.m. and in paper bags only.

Please note the following:

  • no plastic bags
  • no barrels
  • branches must be no greater than three inches in diameter and cut to lengths of no more than three feet.
  • branches must be bundled and tied (not bagged).

Compost Center

The Compost Center at the DPW Garage, 166 Chestnut Street, is open to allow residents to drop off yard waste on Saturdays from April 1 to November 30 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Center is also open Sundays during November between noon and 4 p.m.

 

Waste Oil Recycling   

Resident may drop off waste oil at the DPW Garage on the last Saturday of every month from April to November between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon.
