Youth Services introduces virtual programs for the first time...

Daily Check-in with Youth Services (all welcome) FREE
During these challenging times of uncertainty, Youth Services is available to check in every weekday morning at 8a for all elementary and middle school students and 9a for high school students.  Whether it be for a brief pep talk before a virtual math test or to chat about how this pandemic is impacting us all...Youth Services is here.

5th Grade Girls Group (grade 5 girls) FREE
YS invites all 5th grade girls to participate in a bimonthly group that will meet virtually every other Thursday at 3-4p.  Time will be spent empowering our girls with building self-esteem, leadership skills, teamwork, tolerance, acceptance, and old/new friendships.  This free program welcomes rolling enrollment throughout the year and will meet on 4/2/20, 4/16/20 and 4/30/20.

EarlyAct Club (grades 3-5) $10/year
EA Club is a bi-monthly leadership and community service club which invites students from all elementary schools in North Reading to participate. Based on a Rotary International model, the projects and meetings focus on the values of gratitude, community, leadership, commitment, and inclusion. Sponsored by North Reading Rotary, the club will meet vitually every other Thursday at 3-4p to plan and implement a local or international humanitarian project. This low-cost program welcomes rolling enrollment throughout the year.  EA Club will meet on 4/9/20 and 4/23/20.

Mentoring (Mentees (grades 3-8), Mentors (grades 9-12)) FREE
Virtual Mentoring Sessions will meet virtually on Wednesday's. Mentees will be paired with a HS Mentor and Mentors will support with completion of virtual homework as well as facilitate a weekly check-in and fun activity.  Virtual Mentoring sessions will be on 4/8/20, 4/15/20 and 4/29/20.

Middle School Youth Group (grades 6-8) FREE
Youth Group will meet virtually every Monday at 3-4p.  Time will be spent doing a group activity virtually while giving the group an opportunity to connect and check in.

Together Tuesdays with Youth Services (all welcome) FREE
For the first time, YS' is offering weekly virtual programming with specific focus on building life and self-care skills.  Time will be spent cooking, practicing self-care, ironing and Zumba.

  • Ingredients: 1lb ground beef/turkey meat, 1 packet Taco seasoning, 1 lg head of iceberg lettuce, 1 lg tomato, 1 bag of Mexican cheese, 1 bag of Doritos, 1 bottle of Catalina dressing (Optional: onion, olives, beans (pinto and/or kidney), corn, sour cream, etc.)
  • You will need: frying pan (skillet), sharp knife, cutting board, big mixing bowl and big mixing spoon
