Do you have a special talent that you’d like to share with local kids? Share your passion! Volunteer to incorporate your brief presentation into a scheduled program. Contact Nancy Ursino, Recreation Director. *HS Community Service eligible
Special event support: Join our crew list for annual events like Teddy Bear Picnic, Candy Cane Hunt, Pumpkin Festival, and Summer BBQs. Assemble materials, event setup, check-in, monitor, clean-up. Contact Heidi Veader. *HS Community Service at hveader@northreadingma.gov
Office Support: A few good volunteers, who can get familiar with the Recreation office and come twice a month to help with shredding, filing, and phone reception. *HS Community Service eligible, may be eligible for Senior Property Tax Work-Off (this opportunity is filled)
SummerScape Counselor-in-training: Recruited annually in April, serve June to August. Low weekly cost to participate in training and fun.
SummerScape Camp Counselor: Recruited annually in April, serving June to August. Paid W-2 employment opportunity.
Summer seasonal work: Recruited annually in April, serving May to August. Paid W-2 employment opportunity.
Highlighted volunteer opportunities:
Inclusion Aide Volunteers provide children with additional hands-on help and encouragement to participate in inclusive Recreation programs (special education experience preferred)
Inclusion Leader will support Inclusion Aide volunteers with questions and training requests (special education experience required). If interested, the Inclusion Leader may provide training and support for teens to become inclusion buddies, supporting participants who need additional hand-on help and encouragement to participate. *HS Community Service eligible, may be eligible for Senior Property Tax Work-Off
