To confirm the day of week your trash is collected, please click here: https://www.northreadingma.gov/sites/g/files/vyhlif3591/f/news/trash_recycling_listing_by_street_10-19-2022.pdf .  The Town continues to monitor Republic’s performance and to discuss alternatives with other companies.  Thank you for your continued patience.

Yesterday, the Town notified Republic that the company was in breach of the trash/recycling agreement it took over from JRM.  In accordance with the contract between the Town and Republic, Republic has ten days to cure the breach.  The Town continues its conversations with other companies.  A copy of the breach notice may be viewed here: https://www.northreadingma.gov/sites/g/files/vyhlif3591/f/news/republic_breach_notice.pdf

Republic Services informs the Town that today, it has one truck collecting trash in the Monday area and one truck collecting trash in the Tuesday area.  Trucks will transition to the Wednesday area after completing the Monday/Tuesday area for trash collection.  Due to a mechanical issue, Republic does not anticipate collecting any recycling townwide today.

Republic reports that it will resume collecting recycling tomorrow, and that recycling collection will continue to be delayed into next week when additional trucks will be delivered to Republic.  The Town has obtained a container located at the Department of Public Works yard at 166 Chestnut Street for residents to dispose of household recycling if needed.  The container is labeled "RECYCLE" and is located down the driveway.

DPW crews are collecting trash from locations missed along the Monday collection route.
