MISSION STATEMENT:  The mission of the North Reading Veterans' Department is to advocate for the Veterans, Spouses, and their dependents. It is the responsibility of the Veterans Agent to outreach through the community and educate them on the assistance and services available through local, state and federal agencies.  The North Reading Veterans Department is committed to ensuring all Veterans and their dependents are served with the utmost courtesy, dignity, compassion, and respect while striving to render services and benefits in a timely manner.  Thank you to all our Veterans for your service and sacrifice.

SERVICES: Services provided in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations: Financial and Medical Assistance in accordance with MGL Chapter 115 and CMR 108, Emergency Services, Assistance and Referrals for Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Homelessness, Employment and Educational. Social Security and  Medigap applications. Filing of VA Comp, VA Pension, Aid and Attendance, Burial Allowance, Tax Exemptions, Welcome Home Bonus, Annuity claims. Assistance with stairlifts, ramps, and other medical necessities to ensure a safe living environment. Outreach services to include: home visits, well checks, nursing home visits, hospital visits, and assistance in obtaining ride services for medical appointments. Preparation and submission of appeal cases for Veterans and their dependents on the State and Federal levels. Attends seminars and conferences on state and federal levels to maintain proficiency and keep abreast of changes in state and federal laws. Hosts Veterans Day Services, Annual Veterans Dinner, Welcome Home Tributes and other Veteran related services or ceremonies.  Coordinates Memorial Day Parade with Memorial Day Committee. Maintains Veterans Memorials.
