As a result of voter participation in the State Election on November 4, 2008, there are currently three (3) Political Parties in Massachusetts:
“Democrat” -- “Republican” -- "Libertarian"
There are also nineteen (19) Political Designations, however persons registered as such are not eligible to vote in Primaries.
A person may register as an “Unenrolled” voter, in which s/he is not affiliated with any political party or any political designation.
“Unenrolled” voters may vote at primaries by declaring the party ballot of their choice upon entering the polls; following the election such voters will automatically return to “Unenrolled” status.
