ETHICS REFORM LAW
Chapter 28 of the Acts of 2009 was signed into law on July 1, 2009
"An Act to Improve the Laws Relating to Campaign Finance, Ethics and Lobbying"
On September 29, 2009 the portions of the Bill that relate to the Conflict of Interest Law went into effect. Provisions and regulations under this law continue to develop from the State Ethics Commission and are provided to municipal employees as required under the law, as well as maintained on this website.
INFORMATION REGARDING THE 2009 ETHICS REFORM LAW CONTINUES TO DEVELOP FROM THE STATE ETHICS COMMISSION
Effective March 18, 2010, revised Implementation Procedures were released by the Ethics Commission which changed some of the original (10/29/09) information previously provided regarding this new law.
The Summary of the Conflict of Interest Law was revised on November 24, 2010.
This Summary is required to be distributed annually to all Municipal Employees
and an Acknowledgement of Receipt must be returned to the Town Clerk's Office.
New or amended Regulations under 930 CMR were approved and submitted to the Secretary of State for publication in the Mass Register to be effective on or before December 24, 2010.
