NOMINATION PAPERS  FOR THE  ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION
TUESDAY -- MAY 7, 2013
TUESDAY -- APRIL 30, 2013 ***

MONDAY --  JANUARY 14, 2013

***[Date of Annual Town Election re-scheduled per vote of the Board of Selectmen
in accordance with Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2013]

The certified signatures of 50 registered voters qualifies a candidate for nomination
[Candidates are urged to obtain more than the minimum number of signatures as duplicate, illegible, or ineligible signatures are not certifiable]

Nomination Papers must be returned to the Town Clerk's Office
   by 5:00 pm on  March 19, 2013

Per the Town Charter .....
The Town Election is held annually on the Tuesday immediately following the first Monday in May.

The following offices are elected positions in North Reading:

·       Board of Selectmen
                Five-person board elected in 3-year staggered terms
·       Moderator  
                One person for 1-year term  
·       School Committee
                Five-person board elected in 3-year staggered terms
·       Community Planning Commission
                Five-person board elected in 3-year staggered terms
·       Housing Authority
                Five-person board, four of whom are elected in 5-year staggered terms
                One position is State-appointed
